Original Recording from 1984.
From Sleeve Notes : A number of tunes on this album are to be found in the manuscript of the celebrated fiddler "Kielder Jack", who played in North Tynedale and Redesdale in the early 1900s. Inevitably, even in an area as remote as Kielder, there is change: the change is reflected in the interpretation and arrangement of the music.
Kathryn Tickell, who has family links of many generations with this area, has grown up surrounded by its music and song. She plays a traditional combination of instruments - the Northumbrian small pipes & fiddle. Kathryn is recognised as one of the leading pipers and also has several Open Fiddle awards to her credit.
