DEBY BENTON GROSJEAN is a saught after performer and teacher of Celtic music, and has won awards in both regional and national Scottish fiddle competitions. For several years, she has been on the faculty of Alasdair Fraser's Valley of the Moon Scottish Fiddling School. She has recorded for Gourd Music and Windham Hill, and her fiddling is featured in several film scores, including Ken Burns' Not for Ourselves Alone. Deby has toured around the world with various ensembles. She enjoys playing for Scottish Country Dancing, appearing regularly at SF Branch events with pianist Andy Imbrie.
ANDY IMBRIE began studying classical piano as a child, and started playing for Scottish Country Dancing in 1984 with the encouragement of Kim McGarrity and Barbara McOwen. He plays regularly for dances throughout the US and Canada with fiddler Calum MacKinnon, and has pl;ayed for workshops in Scotland,Shetland, Orkney, and New Zealand.Andrew leads the Reel of Seven Scottish dance band ( of which Deby is a member ), and is the music coordinator for the San Francisco Branch of the RSCDS.
BOB MCMURTY has been a Scottish Country dancer for twenty years and teacher for more than ten. He started folk dancing with his family as a child and later danced in a small San Francisco-based ballet company. Bob has been a musician most of his life. He started with piano, took up the tuba ( with which he performed in the US Army band ), and later took up the recorder and various percussion instruments. Bob teaches several dance classes in the San Francisco Branch of thr RSCDS.
