From the CD Booklet "Tipsy Courting"

On a happy day in June 1997 Jim Malcolm and I were married in Methlick,Aberdeenshire. One of our many special wedding presents- from one of the wittiest men in the Scottish folk scene,Ian McCalman, and his partner Ellen Krog - was 20 hours of recording time in his studio. We decided to use this to realise one of my ambitions- to make a CD of my favourite traditional Scots songs. Most of these are, like me, from the North-east of Scotland.
