Stevie Lawrence: Was initially involved in Rock bands from Schooldays and was active in the Glasgow pub rock scene before turning to Acoustic and Roots music in the early eighties.
Joined long time Scottish folk favourites Cruachan in 1986, replacing Ross Kennedy who had left to join the Tannahill Weavers.
Worked with Cruachan for 6 years playing Festivals and Folk Clubs all over Scotland before joining The Iron Horse, once again replacing Ross Kennedy.
Recorded 3 albums with the band during a 3 year stint as well as touring all over the UK and Europe as well as Russia and Egypt.
After leaving Iron Horse, carved a career as session musician and producer and has worked with a diverse range of Artists including Canterach, Gaelic Singer and piper Anna Murray, Tannas, Mick West, John Wright, Carol Kidd, Lena Martell, Donnie Munro, Pete Seeger, Laura McGhee, Shane MacGowan, Maddy Prior, Stuart Cassells, Red Hot Chilli Pipers and the progressive rock of Abel Ganz.
Rejoined Iron Horse in 2003 with Ross Kennedy, releasing �The Wind Shall Blow For Evermore�
Stevie has appeared on more than 100 commercial releases and has also been involved in many multimedia and specially commissioned projects.
Currently tours and records with Big Sky artists Rallion.
Also performs with Canterach, Wendy Weatherby Trio, Mick West Band, Laura McGhee, ex Clydesiders member Duncan McCrone and fellow Big Sky artists Real Time.
�The Hidden Gem� is Stevie Lawrence�s debut solo recording on the Big Sky label and is a follow up to his first solo album, �Standing Alone� , released by KRL in 2002.
Stevie�s association with Big Sky dates back to 2000, when studio and label Director Tom Roseburgh first started the business in Tweedbank in the Scottish Borders.
Since then Stevie has played on and produced many of the products that have been recorded and released by Big Sky and this solid working relationship continues to flourish today.
While �Standing Alone� was a solo album in the true sense in that all instrumentation was played by Stevie, this release features contributions from many of the musicians that Stevie has worked with during an active 20 year career as Musician, Producer, Arranger and Audio Engineer.

BIG SKY
Big Sky Studios have been established at Tweedbank near Melrose in the Scottish Borders for 5 years. Tom Roseburgh the owner and Senior Sound Engineer has been instrumental in building the studio from a small operation into one of the most respected and technically innovative recording houses in Scotland.
He has however not lost the personal touch that is his hallmark and prospective clients receive the same professional treatment whether a recording novice or an established veteran of the industry.
As well as running the recording studio Tom finds time to play occasional keyboards with Real Time, a popular Folk Band, mostly on their foreign gigs.
Big Sky has recently moved into multimedia production and now has several educational, promotional and historical titles in their portfolio. This area of multi-media marketing and the provision of commercial voice-over and sound bytes are being expanded.
The in-house Big Sky Label continues to grow and this release is another addition to an ever developing and exciting catalogue.
