Hugo Duncan
Biography
From the CD Booklet " Catch Me if You Can "
Hugo Duncan, now a star of T.V. screens as well as on stage, can diversify from a sad song such as " The Fields of Athenry " to thr height of hilarity on " Catch Me if You Can ", written by the late Christy O'Connor from Galway. Both songs are on this album as is another lively piece of vocalising on " Brady From Strabane " by Hugo, who is affectionately known as " The wee man from Strabane ", since he first fronted his band the Tallmen back in the early 1970s.
At that time he was spotted on a T.V. talent show on RTE and snapped up by the then fledgling Release Records, which later spawned such stars as Philomena Begley, Ray Lynam, Eurovision star Johnny Logan and many more. While the tracks on this album will evoke memories for many of Hugo performing some of Ireland's favourite songs on ballroom and carnival stages in the past it's release now comes at a time when he is at the top of his tree as a BBC T.V.host.
