From the CD Booklet " The Songs of Robert Burns in Colour "

Although the members of Borealis live in Ayrshire ( where Robert Burns lived most of his life ) and are therefore steeped in an understanding of the dialect and language used in his works, we wanted to approach these Burn's songs without the colouring an musical preconceptions which can sometimes surround the 'Scottish classics'. We wished to use our own different musical backgrounds to present these timeless words and traditional melodies. Hence a mixture of classical,jazz,folk through to blues, but always staying true to the sentiments of Burn's original writing.

We hope our interpretations of these songs of Robert Burns can provide even a passing moment of joy , contentment, amusement or even sadness...
