Alan Bell
Biography
From the CD Booklet " The Definitive Collection "
Alan Bell was born and bred on the Fylde Coast of Lancashire. At four years old he was singing in a church school and has been singing ever since. In his teens, Alan was singing American folk songs and on being demobbed from the army in 1954, earned his first payment as a performer in the Climbers Bar of The Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel in Great Langdale in the Lake District, by singing six Woody Guthrie songs. This impromptu gig earned him just two bottles of brown ale.
On this CD , Alan Bell returns to his roots as a singer and songwriter. To meet many requests from around the world, Alan and his friends have re-recorded the most popular and requested songs written in his forty- year career as a songwriter.
